What We Do
The City of Oklahoma City, Utilities Department, has a program to address the amount of Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) that is discharged to our sanitary sewer system. FOG will clog the sewer lines leading to back-ups into homes, businesses, and restaurants. We try to educate our restaurants, as well as our private residents, the problem with pouring used grease directly into our drains. We have a character from the 50's (think Happy Days) named FOGzie who has a short video concerning this issue. During the past years of having a booth at this event, we've had a lot of people that stop and talk to our personnel about this issue. We've had a lot of positive feedback from people, not just with restaurants, but with their private homes addressing the grease issue.
